The men trimmed trees, planted flowers, laid down mulch, fertilized, watered the new plants and more. They cleaned up after their hard work and hauled away the brush. The area that was once overgrown looks so much neater now. Once the flowers mature it will look so pretty and uplifting to visitors passing by. I am hoping to keep it going with the help of shelter and community service clients. Our Cornerstone clients and visitors will enjoy seeing this improved area.
I have never seen a more pleasant and giving group of men.
I would like to thank each and every member of the men's group that helped to make this outdoor project an area of beauty and of hope.
Clothing Bank Etc. Director
The Cornerstone Foundation Clothing Bank Etc. hosted a successful Prom event for girls from surrounding towns. Our mission was to help lessen their financial burden for the girls to attend their high school prom. If not for this help they may not have been able to afford this once in a lifetime event. Everything was provided at no cost! The volunteers worked for weeks transforming our storage room into a wonderful showroom to display over 200 donated gowns, plus accessories. We also setup 2 separate dressing rooms for the girls to try on their selections. After the girls decided on a gown, the volunteers helped select shoes, an evening bag, jewelry, makeup and nail polish to compliment the beautiful prom gown. We also offered haircuts and skin care sessions by 2 women outside the Clothing Bank Etc. who donated their time and skills. It was such a thrill for the volunteers from the Clothing Bank Etc., who worked so hard on this event, to see the girls so happy and excited with their choices. The girls and those with them couldn’t thank us enough for helping them out. The girls looked fabulous in their gown of choice. I would like to thank all the volunteers and the generosity of our donors who made this prom event possible.
Clothing Bank Etc. Director
Our very own volunteer Jenn Kirchmeier took charge of this project with the help of other volunteers. She did a fabulous job preparing separate baskets for boys and girls.
The winning clients excitedly thanked us when we notified them of their prizes over the phone.
